People: AFIA appoints Krafka to board of directors

Kristi Krafka, vice president of regulatory affairs for the animal nutrition and health division of Kemin in North America, has been appointed to the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) Board of Directors. Krafka’s appointment expires May 2015, most recently Krafka was chair of of AFIA’s Feed Regulatory Committee.

AFIA is the world’s largest organisation devoted exclusively to representing the business, legislative and regulatory business of the US animal feed industry and its suppliers. Members include more than 575 domestic and international companies and as well as state, regional and national associations.

Krafka was instrumental in Kemin achieving the prestigious Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognition at its Des Moines, Iowa, manufacturing facility in February 2013. Kemin earned the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000:2010, recognised by GFSI, which is accepted by food manufacturers worldwide. Under Krafka’s leadership, Kemin continuously enhances its conditions and processes that ensure its products are safe, efficient and effective until they reach the end consumer.
