People: Kimberly Karst back as Global Programs Director at USGC

The US Grains Council (USGC) is pleased to welcome back Kimberly Karst as the new director of global programs. Karst worked for the Council from 2005-2011 serving in many roles including the manager of international operations for Asia. Most recently, Karst served as consulting projects manager for World Perspectives, a global agriculture consulting firm.

“Kim has an extensive background in the full breadth of Council operations,” said Tom Sleight, USGC President and CEO. “Her acumen, dedication and excellent relationships with Council members and global staff will be a tremendous asset to the Council.”
In this new role, Karst will direct the implementation of the Council’s worldwide marketing plan activities, and work with international directors and staff to ensure effective communication between regional offices and Council headquarters, membership and USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
Karst is a graduate of the University of Montana and holds a degree in political science and communication studies. She grew up on a barley, wheat and canola farm in northern Montana.
Be sure to attend the Council’s 52nd Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Vancouver, Wash., to welcome Karst back to the Council.
