Fermentalg, an French industrial biotechnology company specializing in the production of bio-chemical molecules by microalgae, announced the appointment of Professor Daniel Thomas as its director.

With a Ph.D. in Physics, Daniel Thomas (66) is Professor at the University of Technology of Compiègne, Chairman of the Scientific ADRIA Development, Director of Studies at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris and member of the Academy of Technology.
 
He is also Chairman of the competitiveness cluster "Industries and Agro-resources" and the Regional Agency for Innovation in Picardie (Picardy ARI) in France.
 
Daniel Thomas is director of the company METabolic Explorer, a French biological chemistry listed on NYSE Euronext in Paris.
 
In addition to his appointment, Daniel Thomas says, "I am very pleased to be able to contribute to the emergence of a new player in the French biotech industry.
 
Fermentalg has already successfully completed a number of key steps and demonstrates its ability to combine a high level of research and development with an ability to deal with industrial and commercial issues by signing partnership agreements with leading players.

Created in 2009 by Pierre Calleja, Fermentalg is a biotechnology company specializing in the industrial production of bio-chemical molecules by microalgae.
