Protein Summit to attract feed and food experts

The need to develop new sustainable protein sources, raw materials and processes is of utmost importance to make sure we have enough food in the future. This major challenge will be discussed at the upcoming Protein Summit, held 18-19 September in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Demand for protein remains high, but how can the food, pet food, feed and downstream processing industries co-operate in the supply chain and achieve innovation & sustainability goals?

A collection of top notch speakers will shed their light on this ‘protein challenge’, from a food, pet food and feed perspective. For example. Jeroen Leffelaar, Global Co-Head Animal Protein, Rabobank (the Netherlands) will speak about the global animal and vegetable protein production and forecasts. The animal protein market will also be discussed per specie.

Hege Charlotte Bakken, Director, Stella Polaris (the Netherlands) will present an overview on the exciting and growing aquaculture sector. What are the protein demand drivers from the aquaculture industry and what are the future opportunities for this industry?

The future perspectives of the egg industry for the food industry will be further described by Nan-Dirk Mulder, Associate Director Commodities, Feed and Animal Protein, Rabobank (the Netherlands).

A large number of other speakers will also be present at the 7th Protein Summit. Apart from the many presentations, the attendees can visit the Protein innovation plaza, where organisations present their new products. Here, delegates can interact, form new alliances, start projects and create new business opportunities. For more information about this event, please visit the conference website.
