Report discusses pet obesity problem in UK

The Pet Food Manufacturers Organisation in the UK published a report on the current status of pet obesity.

Pet obesity is reaching epic proportions with one in three pets being overweight in the UK. With nine in ten pet owners not at all concerned about their pet’s weight, the job to be done to challenge perceptions, behaviour and attitudes can not be underestimated, according to the report.

The Association recommendation for owners is to take is to start assessing their pets’ weight on a regular basis. This can be done easily by using the PFMA Pet Size-O-Meter. This is a simple, interactive tool which shows owners how to measure their pets’ weight and body condition.
