Schaumann: New generation rumen-protected fats

The latest innovation in the product line of rumen-protected fats presented by German additive specialist Schaumann is Energy Vital, a specialised fodder fat based on fatty acids from palm and linseed oil.

The use of fatty acids from linseed oil gives Schaumann Energy Vital a very high proportion of nutritionally highly valuable omega-3 fatty acids.

The sophisticated manufacturing procedure ensures that the fatty acids in the product, including the omega-3 fatty acids, are protected and can be absorbed unchanged in the small intestine.

Improving reproductive performance

Due to its special composition Energy Vital optimises the energy supply of dairy cows and primarily improves their reproductive performance.

The omega-3 fatty acids present in the product stimulate the growth of the corpus luteum, thereby inducing an increased production of the pregnancy hormone progesterone.

The formation of prostaglandins is reduced, embedding and nutrition of the embryo are improved, which in turn increases its survival rate.

Classic fodder fats improve the energy supply of dairy cows, but Energy Vital improves the pregnancy rate of cows and reduces embryonal mortality, thus creating the potential for a marked increase in the reproductive performance of dairy cattle.
