The second conference on probiotics, Probiotech 2008, will be dedicated to synbiotics (probiotics and prebiotics combined) and is scheduled to be held on 23 – 24 June, 2008 in Nantes, France.
Probiotech was held for the first time in June 2007, successfully bringing
together manufacturers and end-users of probiotics, as well as researchers in
this field, from 24 countries.
It presented the latest research into the
benefits that functional ingredients, such as probiotic bacteria, can offer the
nutrition, healthcare and cosmetics sectors, alongside information about current
legislation affecting the industry.
In response to feedback from the 2007
event, Probiotech 2008 will also cover prebiotic fibres, as well as
technological innovations concerning the detection, traceability and safety of
microbial flora. There will be targeted and industry-oriented technical
conferences on these subjects.
