Much has been written on the use in feed of yellow and red carotenoids for egg yolk pigmentation. During the year 2000 handling characteristics of different carotenoid sources were also reviewed in Feed Mix, with special emphasis on the effects of feed processing and storage conditions on carotenoid stability. The question is how all these aspects can be combined for its practical use in feed formulation.
