Last year, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (
VOSA) discovered that the firm was transporting contaminated organic animal feed.
Carlisle Crown Court heard the lorry driver had collected the cargo from animal feed manufacturer BOCM PAULS in Penrith, but the trailer had been used to deliver animal by-products the day before.
The firm was fined £25,000 (€27,500) and was ordered to pay £4,500 costs (€4,950).
