The trade show Victam 2020, which also incorporates Animal Health And Nutrition Asia, has been postponed for a 2nd time. The show in Bangkok, Thailand, will now be held in January 2022.
The combined show was a first for the management teams of Victam and VIV Worldwide to cooperate on a joint event. The event was originally scheduled to take place in March 2020, but that was postponed to July 2020 due to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak. Now the last date also proved impossible.
Initially the show organisers hoped that a postponement to July would allow the show to be the first one held once the Covid-19 crisis would be over. In a statement, the organisers wrote: “We have been monitoring the situation of Covid-19 on a daily basis hoping the situation would be stabilised. However, since our last postponement, Covid-19 is still disrupting the business around the world and we come to a conclusion that being present at the exhibition is not at the moment, our clients’ priority.”
The organisers opted for a postponement of 1.5 years instead of 6 months, so the new event will not virtually coincide with VIV Asia, which is scheduled to be held in Bangkok in March 2021.
Postponing the event entirely to January 2022 would give all stakeholders room to breathe and pay attention to other vital issues. The objective remains the same, which is to realise the total animal feed and health event organised by Victam and VIV.”
