ForFarmers and team agrar, part of the DLG Group, are merging their feed activities in Germany. The joint venture will go together under the name ForFarmers team agrar.

The idea is that the merger will provide better geographical coverage. This should also enable customers to be better and more efficiently served. ForFarmers CEO Pieter Wolleswinkel sees the joint venture as a major step forward to expand market activities in Germany.

Both parties have been working together in Germany for some time through the HaBeMa joint venture. This is a company that is active in the trade, storage and transhipment of raw materials and compound feed production in Hamburg, Germany. In addition to the production of compound feed, team agrar is also active in grain collection and grain trading, the supply of seeds, fertilisers and pesticides and products for the farm.

Approval from authorities

ForFarmers team agrar includes the feed activities of ForFarmers and team agrar and the employees in the relevant legal entities in Germany. This concerns the feed activities of ForFarmers in Germany with approximately 250 employees and the feed activities of team agrar in Germany with approximately 130 employees. The joint venture has 8 feed production locations, 3 terminals and its own fleet.

The current HaBeMa joint venture, which has 130 employees, is also part of the joint venture. Outside the joint venture agreement are the activities in Germany of the brands ForFarmers Thesing, Pavo, Reudink, CirQlar and Vleuten, as well as the activities of the DLG Group in all other areas of agriculture, organic animal feed, Vilofoss activities, construction and energy activities. Germany.

The agreement is subject to approval by relevant authorities. After approval, ForFarmers will fully consolidate the joint venture in its financial results. ForFarmers’ German activities generated a turnover of €620 million in 2023 (2022: €667 million). The feed company’s total turnover was approximately €3 billion. After the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Germany is the third largest country in terms of turnover.
