NRGene Canada and Bühler launch North American insect center

NRGene Canada, NRGene’s Canadian subsidiary, has announced the opening of the North American Insect Center in Saskatchewan. This research center for collaborative innovation was established together with the Swiss technology group Bühler and will serve as a testing and demonstration facility for both companies’ customers, offering them the opportunity to evaluate the performance of chosen Black Soldier Fly varieties on the by-product streams available to the customers.

Adisseo announces the third edition of its International Research Grant

This grant will allocate €1 million over the next 3 years to fund research projects addressing key challenges in animal nutrition, investigating nutritional approaches for monogastric (swine and poultry). The selection process for Adisseo’s Research Grant will be overseen by a scientific committee that will evaluate proposals that focus on sustainable solutions that address the global challenges of climate change and applying the One Health concept in animal production. The pre-proposal application period is open until 2 September.

The GMP+ Academy launches e-learning module on sampling feed

The GMP+ Academy introduces it e-learning course that teaches the basics of correct sampling techniques. The 45-minute e-learning module is conducted in English and is specifically designed for production companies in the feed industry. The course covers what sampling is, why samples are taken, what sampling equipment is needed, how to take samples and how to label, seal and store samples correctly. 

Anitox joins Iluma Alliance

Feed safety specialist Anitox is now part of Iluma Alliance, the global business ecosystem dedicated to creating value for the feed and food industry. Anitox CEO, Chris Tecca: “Anitox will continue to operate independently […] protecting feed mills and animal feeds from harmful bacteria and viruses to improve productivity and biosecurity. Our identity, brands including Termin-8 and Finio, teams and geographic footprint are all preserved.”

dsm-firmenich and Bestmix Software partner with Sustell

dsm-firmenich and Bestmix Software have announced their strategic partnership to measure and manage the environmental footprint of animal feed through Bestmix Software’s feed formulation with the Sustell full life cycle assessment (LCA) platform, which allows customers to easily generate and share their feed footprints. 

Novus shares how feed can negatively impact nutrition and performance

While selected as feed for their availability, cost and protein content, common raw feed ingredients can also negatively impact their own nutritional value and bioavailability. Gabriela Cardoso, Ph.D., Novus poultry solutions manager for the Americas, will share how common feedstuffs like soybean meal and others can negatively impact poultry performance during X Seminario Internacional de Nutriciōn Avícol (X International Poultry Nutrition Seminar 2024), being held 24-25 July in Bogotá, Colombia. Hosted by the Colombian Association of Veterinary and Zootechnical Physicians (AMEVEA), the event includes the latest poultry research and trends.

Alltech Coppens partners with the Ministry of Agriculture in Kazakhstan

The Fisheries Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has selected Alltech Coppens its partner to provide fish feed in the country. Kazakhstan is a promising and growing market for aquaculture due to its geographical position, government support for new aquaculture projects and increased demand for fish for domestic consumption, says Alltech. 

Novus’ new global headquarters is focused on the future

Novus International is focusing on research, new product development, and innovation in a new place to call home in the US. The nutrition company recently moved its global headquarters in Missouri to 17988 Edison Avenue in St. Louis. The new space is more focused on R&D and features a new in-house lab, and houses members of the company’s executive leadership team, legal and regulatory, finance, human resources, operations, supply chain, and logistics. 

IQI appoints new sales director for Europe

IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients has appointed Arjan van Waes as its new sales director Europe. Arjan brings substantial experience in the (pet)food industry and previously worked as a director at Sonac, a Darling Ingredients International brand, where he established the business unit Sonac Functional Products to commercialise Sonac’s food-grade proteins and fats for the meat and savory products sector. 

Novus announces global leader

José Otávio B. Sorbara, Ph.D., has been announced as Novus’ Feed Enzymes global leader following the company’s acquisition of BioResource International, Inc. earlier this year. In this role, Sorbara owns developing the strategy and managing the innovation pipeline for Novus’ enzyme products while supporting the commercial team as it works to grow the feed enzyme business around the world.
