Danish company AgroKorn has launched a soya based product that replaces fishmeal. Tests reveal positive results in piglets.
The production of AlphaSoy Premium is based on a new Danish method, IGM-BioProcessing, developed by researchers at University of Copenhagen. The product* contains up to 70% protein and has a very low content of anti-nutritional factors, resulting in a very high digestibility. A low potassium level is also making the product particularly interesting in poultry- and piglet feed.
A test initiated by AB Agri and conducted by Leeds University in the UK showed great results on piglets. The productivity on piglets, that had been fed with feed that has the product* as an important protein source, for the first 4 weeks after weaning has been compared to feed containing another soy protein concentrate and feed containing “super prime” fishmeal.
The results confirm the trend in a number of AlphaSoy tests on young and sensitive animals. The tests show that the products* unique production process show results and confirms that soya based products can replace expensive protein sources as fishmeal, potato protein and milk.
