Adsorption of mycotoxins is a widely used strategy to counter mycotoxins on animal level.

After ingestion of contaminated feed, mycotoxin binders adsorb mycotoxins in the gastrointestinal tract preventing absorption and minimizing negative effects. Binding aflatoxin is easy due to its planar and polar structure. But what about other mycotoxins such as zearalenone, a non-polar mycotoxin?
