Bunge to support Minnesota soybean facility

Bunge North America Inc. has entered into a service agreement with Minnesota Soybean Processors Inc. for its soybean processing facility in Brewster, Minnesota. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, which is effective Sept. 1, Bunge will provide
commercial and administrative support to the processing operations. The facility
has about 70 employees who will retain their posts, according to a release.

“This service agreement with
Minnesota Soybean Processors gives Bunge access to additional meal and oil
supplies in an area of the country where we don’t currently have a presence,”
Greg Bechtel, general manager, Bunge Oilseed Processing, said in a statement.

About the companies
Minnesota Soybean Processors
Inc. is a co-op with nearly 2,400 farmer members from Minnesota, South Dakota
and Iowa. In December 2003, Minnesota Soybean Processors opened a crush plant in
Brewster, Minn. The facility has expanded to include a vegetable oil refinery
and a biodiesel plant.

St. Louis-based Bunge North America is the North
American operating arm of Bunge Ltd., a food and feed ingredient company that
operates grain elevators, grain and oilseed processing plants, edible oil
refineries and food processing facilities in the United States, Canada and
Mexico.
