Cargill to introduce natural aqua feed additive

17-09-2009 | |

Cargill will introduce Hoplite™ at the World Aquaculture Show Sept. 25-29, 2009, in Veracruz, Mexico.

Hoplite is a natural yeast product designed to provide gut health benefits for fish and shrimp, improve palatability of feed and act as a partial fish meal replacer.

"Hoplite contains nucleotides and proteins that support the immune system and cell growth, which may improve the gut health of fish and shrimp," said Christine Cerkvenik, product manager. "

“And adding Hoplite to a feed formulation can improve palatability, thereby encouraging weight gain and overall productivity.

“In research trials, fish on diets containing the product showed increased feed intake over fish on a regularly prescribed diet."

Natural product
"Not only is Hoplite a natural yeast product that is sustainably sourced and competitively priced, but it can also partially replace a producer’s use of fish meal. It’s an environmentally conscious addition to any feed program," said Cerkvenik.

For more information there is a Hoplite website.
