Delacon restructures and opens new office in India

The new year brings many organisational changes for Austrian feed additive company Delacon, alongside changes within the R&D department, Product Management and Innovation teams, Delacon have also expanded their feed additive business into India.

The restructuring means that the previously separated teams have now joined forces to become a new division called “Product & Innovation”. Dr Jan Dirk van der Klis has become the head of this new division whilst still remaining Species Leader for Poultry.

Primary tasks as Head of Product & Innovation
His primary task as Head of Product & Innovation will be to unify the former structure into one strong team that makes use of the synergies between them, and to support the interaction between the different species, as well as R&D. Jan Dirk van der Klis joined the Delacon team as Species Leader for Poultry in January 2014.

Former Head of Innovation and R&D hands over responsibility
As a result of the restructuring process, Bohumír Simerda has handed over his responsibility for Research and Development. Keeping his position of Director CEE, Simerda will focus more deeply on the expansion of Delacon activities in the CEE region.

Delacon establishes new office in India
Delacon saw this region as a potential market place for its feed additive business due to the demand for high quality food and meat products and also because the export market is rising. Therefore Delacon opened up a new office in 2014 and appointed Dr Jeetendra Verma as Country Manager,  he is responsible for developing business in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal.  “I want to develop the upcoming trend of phytogenic feed additives and establish this new concept in India and neighbouring countries,” he stated.

Dr Verma is DVM and PhD in Poultry Nutrition with specialisation in mycotoxins. Before joing Delacon he worked for Elanco Animal Health looking after the regulatory and market access issues based at India. He moved to poultry industry in 1998 and has experience in feed marketing, feed additive business and veterinary health care products.
