Frustrated crushers hope biodiesel programme leads to better times

In Brazil the withdrawal of tax on exports of raw soybeans has shifted exports from meals to soybeans and left the crushing industry with overcapacities. Brazilian crushers hope that the government’s plans to add a steadily increasing amount of vegetable oil to diesel fuel will be the salvation of the crushing industry. Patrick Knight reports.
