Ireland based Pegus Horse Feed signs agreements

06-08-2009 | |

After several years of localised distribution in Co Cork, Pegus Horse Feed has signed new agreements with Dairygold Co-ops Ltd, and Liffey Mills, based in Roscrea, Co Tipperary.

Best known for pioneering the first grass cube for feeding horses in Ireland, Pegus Horse Feed was established after importing the new concept from the USA, formulated by California-based equine nutritionist, Dr Ensminger. Since the death of Captain Paddy Stone in the late 1980s, Pegus Horse Feed continues to be controlled and managed by the Stone family.

The new structure gives Pegus Horse Feed a national footprint, quality assured milling processes, and the ability to reach any customer on a nationwide basis. "It is a great development for Pegus Horse Feed, Dairygold and Liffey Mills," said managing director David Stone. "In recent years we have focused on attracting quality milling partners and I am confident that we have the best in the country, giving Pegus Horse Feed a national footprint," he added.
