BioResource International (BRI) has appointed Dr. Sanjeewa Rupasinghe as a new research scientist to join their research and development team.
Dr. Rupasinghe is a protein biochemist-enzymologist with a BS in Biology from the University of Colombo and a PhD from the University of Illinois. In his new role, Rupasinghe will support new product development from the early stages of research through approval and launch by planning, designing, executing, and analysing enzyme characterisation studies.
“We are most excited to welcome Sanjeewa to our technology team,” said Dr. JJ Wang, CTO and Senior VP of Research and Development. “His experience and skills are an excellent complement to those of the rest of our team members and will prove invaluable as we continue to develop innovative, sustainable solutions that help to feed the growing world population.”
The company has also been awarded another US patent. With the new patent, the company expands its intellectual property portfolio in enzyme technology to include the use of its proprietary protease feed additive in both poultry and swine diets.
The company’s first product, Versazyme®, has become the leading protease enzyme in poultry feed as a result of consistent premium performance demonstrated in the field.
“The success of our protease enzyme continues to fuel our growth and has built a foundation upon which to expand our portfolio of feed enzyme solutions,” added CEO Giles Shih.
