The measure was officially confirmed by the AQSIQ in a note to the president of the Argentine National Health Service and Food Quality (SENASA), Jorge Amaya, said a statement from the local authority.
China permitted six plants for meat and bone meal, one for whey products, and five pet food manufacturers to export to that country. Previously four plants were already authorised.
Tour de Argentina
Chinese officials visited and assessed animal feed and raw material plants in Argentina that had reported to be interested in exporting to China.
Chinese officials toured each of the establishments located in different regions of Argentina, accompanied by professionals from the Argentinean animal and vegetable products safety and hygiene organisation SENASA.
The decision by the Chinese authorities "highlights the quality of products and raw materials in Argentina and demonstrates confidence in SENASA as a regulator and watchdog," the organisation said.
