Indian dairy farmers subsidised

03-08-2009 | |

The Indian government subsidies animal feed concentrates and is opening exclusive cattle feed fair price shops in places where milk societies are not established.

Indian farmers are currently struggling due to vagaries of monsoon and fluctuation of prices for their produce. Due to the support for dairy farming, farmers in other sectors are therefore looking into changing their animal stocks.

The dairy farmers will be immensely benefited if the feed ingredients such as groundnut cake, rice bran, cotton seed, gram husk, mineral mixture etc at 50% subsidy to enable the farmers to prepare the feed themselves as balanced ration as they are traditionally following such practices.
