Russia continues to increase overall volume of feed production. But this is not the case for all animal species.
The production of pig feed is still rising strongly, but production of poultry feed has been decreasing over the last months.
According to the reports from Russian media Soya News amongst others, Russia produced 14.9 million tonnes of feed in the first seven months of 2016. This is 6.1% more, compared to the same period last year. Production of feed in Russia is known to grow on a stable level every month on a year-to-year comparison, according to the report.
During the first seven months, Russia poduced 5.4 million tonnes of pig feed, which is 14.4% more compared to the same period in 2015. Pig feed remains the main growth driver of the Russian feed industry.
Production of poultry feed amounted to 8.1 million tonnes, which is 1.6% more compared to last year’s figures. However, experts note that on a year-to-year comparison volume of output in this segment shows a decreasing trend over the last month, which is expected to continue. This will mean that by the end of 2016, the volume of poultry feed production will be lower than in 2015.
Production of cattle feed came to 1.2 million tonnes. This is 4.1% more on a year-to-year comparison. Detailed analysis shows that growth in unstable.
