New Hope to construct large feed plant in Tatarstan

China’s large agribusiness operator New Hope Liuhe plans to open a feed mill in the Republic of Tatarstan, in central Russia, according to a report from the local authorities

Representatives from New Hope Liuhe recently visited Tatarstan to choose the site for the construction of the enterprise. The general director Yue Ying visited several industrial parks in Tatarstan and discussed with the representatives from the local government and the Ministry of Agriculture possible support for the project.

Local officials claim that the agreement on the implementation of the project has already been signed and the construction will be launched within the next two months.

The approximate capacity of the plant will be amount to 300,000 tonnes of feed per year. With this volume New Hope Liuhe will become the largest feed producer in the Republic and one of the largest in the Central Russia. The approximate investment cost of the project is US$500 mln.

New Hope Liuhe is a major Chinese agricultural holding company, uniting about 500 companies. In 2013 the total turnover of the company amounted to US$ 15 bn. So far the company is not presented in Russia.
