The Centre for Feed Technology owned by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), has appointed Olav Fjeld Kraugerud as manager of the Feed Technology Centre (FôrTek).
Fôrtek serves both scientists and international feed industry by carrying out research in all areas of fish feed, pet food and animal feed, as well as educating students in the M.Sc. Feed Manufacturing Technology.
Kraugerud has a thorough academic background holding an MSc in Chemical Engineering from NTNU, Norway, and a PhD and from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
The doctorate, which he performed in the research group Aquaculture Protein Centre, he focused on nutritional and physical quality of extruded feed. Deputy Ingvar Selmer-Olsen at UMB is pleased that Kraugerud accepted the position, and believe in a strong competitive position for FôrTek.
Kraugerud explains “As a former user of FôrTek I have insight into its strengths and potential, working closely with the small and energetic cluster of people at FôrTek and in a very exciting field, within the university sphere were reasons why I am excited for this job”.
