Premium Pet Health now fully owned by John Morrell & Co
John Morrell & Co., a Smithfield Foods, Inc. wholly owned subsidiary, has acquired the remaining 49% interest in Premium Pet Health, LLC.
Premium Pet Health is a protein by-product processor which supplies many pet food processors throughout the US.
The investment seems logical for the company, seeing that it is synergistic to their fresh pork processing business and also has a superior return on investment.
Smithfield Foods is one of the largest pork processors and hog producers in the US. The company produces and markets a variety of fresh meat and packaged meats products both US and internationally.
