The growth of Russia’s compound feed exports is gaining momentum according to a market research report, ‘Market of compound feed in Russia’ by Russian Business Consulting.
In the period from 2010 to 2012, the volume of Russian exports of compound feed increased rapidly – 32% in 2011 and 82% in 2012 based on a year-to-year comparison.
“In the current year domestic feed producers also have the opportunity to take advantage of the conditions created by Russia’s membership to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and further increase the volume of compound feed exports” said the report. The largest purchasers of Russian feed are: Turkey, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Denmark, Israel, France, Iran, Germany, Britain and other countries.
Exports from Russia in 2012, in total amounted to about 21.7 thousand tonnes of feed and feed additives, including premixes. The volume of exports of premixes in 2012 increased 5.7 times, feed concentrates by 90% on year-to-year comparison. Shipments abroad of protein and vitamin supplements increased by 45%
In 2012, 18 regions exported feed additives. The Republic of Mari El and the Bryansk regions exported the largest volumes. Exports from the Bryansk region increased by 91% and from the Republic of Mari El by 70% compared to the previous year.
