The construction of a large feed mill in the Republic of Udmurtia, in the east of the European part of Russia, is near completion, according to local media.
The first phase of the project is to be launched before the end of the December 2013 – in Uralski village in the Sarapulskiy district. The mill will have a capacity of 40,000 tonnes of feed per year, according to the press service of the President and the Government of Udmurtia.
The project is being implemented by ASKOR, which also plans to build a poultry farm in the area. The exact amount of investment is unknown but experts estimate it to be in the region of €200 million (US$265.512 million).
According to the official information the German company Himel, which specialises in the production of agricultural processing equipment, has shown an interest in the project and is ready to supply the feed mill and poultry farm with all the necessary equipment.
“Today we should not just pursue any investment. We need high-quality investments that will create new jobs, develop the social sphere and produce products that can compete on the national and European markets”, commented the head of the region Alexander Volkov.
