Unicorn Grain invests in the future

An international producer of functional and specialty ingredients for Feed, Food and Industry, Unicorn Grain Specialties is going to invest in expansion and in the modernisation of the production facility in Weert, the Netherlands.

Unicorn wants to invest more than €2 million in its processes to increase the capacity of the company. Due to the continued growth and customer demands Unicorn is investing in several major projects. In addition to the continuing demand for specific natural functional ingredients the demands of the customer are also increasing. To meet the highest quality standards and increasing demand Unicorn will expand the silo capacity and will install additional process technologies within the company. The process automation will also be provided with the most recent hardware and software.

Late 2012 Unicorn launched two new concepts based on natural ingredients for the snack and bread industry. Both concepts have expanded enormously. In addition, the demand for special raw materials and ingredients towards the animal feed market, developed in a similar way. This growth will necessitate additional investments according Pieter Spanjers (CEO Unicorn).

Unicorn increases its investment level. In 2012 and 2013, Unicorn has already invested in a new automated packaging line and the organisation has expanded.  Unicorn expect with these investments to be able to meet further growth in natural functional ingredients.
