OSJC “Cherkizovo” Group, a major producer and processor of poultry and pork in Russia, will launch an animal feed plant in the fourth quarter of this year. The new plant will be located at the complex “Tambov turkey”.
Construction of the feed plant began in 2013, and the company has already invested RUB 830 million (US$ 14.7 million) in the project, while the total estimated cost is RUB 1.3 billion (US$ 23 million).
The installment of a production line for granulated feed production with the capacity of nearly 500 tonnes per day is planned, and the plant will have a storage facility with the capacity of 80,000 tonnes of grain. In the future the production capacity may be increased to 320,000 tonnes per year, while the capacity of the grain storage would grow to up to 130,000 tonnes.
Since 2012 Cherkizovo, together with the Spanish company Grupo Fuertes, has been investing in facilities for the growing and processing of turkey with a capacity of 40,000-50,000 tonnes per year. The total investment is close to RUB 7.3 billion (US$ 129 million).
