Chinese ports open for Asian grain

Two terminals in Taicang Port, Jiangsu province (China), have been approved as designated ports for grain imports by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The two terminals, namely Wanfang International Terminal Co and Suzhou Modern Terminals, are allowed to import grain directly from Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar, which can reduce the logistics cost and boost the development of the grain logistics industry in East China.

Since 2014, all the ports with grain import businesses shall apply for approval from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
