Grain exports in the Ukraine show the record pace of development since the beginning of the current marketing year (starting July 2012). As of August 27 it was estimated at 2.74 million tonnes, which is 82.6% more than during the same period of the previous season.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food,  the export of wheat had doubled to 1.17 million tonnes (of which 823.6 thousand tonnes of food wheat and 348 tonnes of feed wheat) as of August 27. At the same time, exports of barley fell by 42.7% to 0.5 million tonnes.

Corn exports amounted to 1.04 million tonnes against 48.4 thousand tonnes for the same period last year.

According to the Ministry, since the beginning of August Ukraine exported 1.54 million tonnes of grain, including 0.8 million tonnes of wheat, 0.46 million tonnes of barley and 0.25 million tonnes of corn.

As noted in the official report of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the export of rapeseed from the beginning of the current MY, and by the end of August had increased to 12% compared to the same date of the last MY to 215.2 thousand tonnes. At the same time soybeans export increased by 3.5 times to 112.9 thousand tonnes. Export of sunflower totalled 257.4 tons, whereas at that same date of the previous year it was estimated at 421.2 thousand tonnes.

According to forecasts of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC), grain exports from Ukraine in 2012/2013 MY forecast at 25 million tonnes against 21.95 million tonnes in 2011/2012 MY.
