Animal feed caused Cyprus alfatoxin scare

24-07-2008 | |

Infected animal feed is likely the cause of the aflatoxin scare in Cyprus.

The head of the investigation, George Pattikis, said
that copies of the conclusions had been sent to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Aflatoxin M1 is the hydroxylated metabolite of aflatoxin B1 and is
usually found in milk or milk products obtained from livestock that have
ingested contaminated feed.
