Fedesa, the European Federation of Animal Health, met in 1998 in Copenhagen to discuss the “Microbial Threat.” They reached a series of policy recommendations on how the risk of antimicrobial resistance could be tackled. These were broad guidelines, which, if everyone followed them, would contribute to the reduction in, or at least the better understanding of antimicrobial resistance. What has happened since then?
