Alltech and Keenan offer free remote ration performance monitoring

Alltech and Keenan have launched a new InTouch service that allows UK dairy and beef farmers to benefit from independent nutritional advice and support, free of charge for the next 3 months.

“This new service has been designed to support farmers by helping measure, monitor and manage the biggest variable cost on-farm, feed,” says Fergal McAdam, Alltech UK GM.

FeedLock, the new feed mitigator by Agrimprove

Agrimprove, the functional feed ingredients brand of Royal Agrifirm Group, has introduced a new feed mitigator called FeedLock, which is based on a targeted combination of medium chain fatty acids. This product has proven to mitigate viral contamination of feed. It is used as a biosecurity measure on farm to close feed-related entry routes for contamination by enveloped viruses like African Swine Fever, Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea, and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome.

Feed additives company NUQO launched

Founded in France, NUQO has been launched. The company is involved in the development, production and supply of natural ingredients using algae bioactives and encapsulation techniques. Solutions that help animal performance, health and welfare are manufactured in 3 different production sites across Europe, using technology that “preserves efficacy and optimal release of active ingredients”.

Zoetis expands digital and data analytics offering to livestock producers

Zoetis has acquired Performance Livestock Analytics to enhance its animal health solutions across the continuum of care for beef producers. The addition of Performance Livestock Analytics, a technology company that simplifies data and analytics for the livestock industry, will help Zoetis accelerate progress in precision livestock farming and improve sustainability of producers’ operations.

MycocheckUp.co.uk web app launched for dairy farms

A new online rapid mycotoxin risk assessment tool has been launched by Micron Bio-Systems. With MycocheckUp, farmers can learn about their risk of mycotoxins from their harvest, storage and feeding practises on their own farm by answering a few questions.

First steps in feeding machines for insects by VDL Agrotech

Market interest in insects for feed is increasing, specifically insect oil for the pig sector. Tim van Heertum has been appointed as project engineer at VDL Agrotech. He will focus mainly on the development of feeding machines for insects. VDL Agrotech offers solutions to simplify current production process and will supply complete feeding machines for the insect market in the near future.

Nutreco commits to adopting Science Based Targets

Nutreco has joined the global ranks of 850 other leading companies by signing a letter of commitment with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) indicating that the company will work to set a science-based emission reduction target. A global collaboration between CDP, the World Resources Institute, World Wide Fund for Nature and the United Nations Global Compact, the SBTI champions science-based target setting to boost companies’ competitive advantage in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

CPF unveils eco-friendly chicken feed

Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) has launched an eco-friendly chicken feed that combines a proportionate nutrient formulae and enzymes for better nutrient absorption and digestion. The innovation reduces waste, primarily carbon dioxide. Dr Pairat Srichana, the Group’s senior VP in the Feed Technology Office which researches and develops animal feed for CPF, said the innovative formula, which was invented with a right balance of amino acid and proportionate enzymes for animals at different ages, enhances digestion. It also cuts down excess raw materials like corn and protein thereby resulting in less waste.
