Archer Daniels Midland acquires English River Pellets

Archer Daniels Midland Company announced the acquisition of English River Pellets, a grain elevator and animal feed manufacturing business with locations in Kalona and Washington, Iowa, USA.

English River Pellets has a combined grain storage capacity of 2.4 million bushels and produces pelleted animal feed for livestock.

“With this acquisition, ADM establishes a strong footprint for our grain origination in Southeast Iowa,” said Joe Taets, president, ADM Grain. “We will use the elevator facilities in Kalona and Washington (pictured) in part to originate crops for our soybean processing plant in Quincy, Illinois, and corn processing plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.”

The animal feed portion of English River Pellets’ business will be operated by ADM Alliance Nutrition, headquartered in Quincy.

ADM Alliance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of ADM and a producer of livestock and poultry feeds and supplements.
