Reed Business Media has appointed Roel Leferink as general editorial manager for World Poultry, All About Feed and Pig Progress. He will act as editor ad interim for All About Feed, until this position is filled permanently. Reed also appointed Fabian Brockötter as editor ad interim for World Poultry.
The editorial changes are due to the sudden passing of managing editor Dick Ziggers in November, and the sick leave of Ad Bal, editor for World Poultry. Reed Business Media is dedicated to the International Agri brands and therefore decided to assign senior level editors to support the editorial staff and retain the quality of these products.
Roel Leferink (45) started his career at Reed Business Media in 1996, after working for several Dutch newspapers . After some years of editing and writing for Agrarisch Dagblad, the Dutch newspaper on agriculture, he was appointed editor in chief in 2005. He was also responsible for the editorial management of De Paardenkrant, a Dutch publication about horses.
In 2011 Reed Business Media asked him to take over the editorial management of the publishing group Agri- and Horticulture, consisting of six Dutch and four international brands. Just a year later, he was appointed editorial director for all B2B publications of Reed Business Media, adding 11 Dutch and one more international brand (in the markets Food & Hospitality and Logistics & Mobility) to that ‘green’ portfolio. He is responsible for editorial development, creating new ways of content by optimising the content management systems, stimulating a multimedia workflow and developing new products.
Leferink will remain as editorial director and will manage the editorial process of all three international brands. He will be the editor ad interim for All About Feed, while searching for a successor for this post.
Fabian Brockötter (38) started his career at Reed Business in 1998 at the Dutch magazine Boerderij. He also wrote for other magazines, before he was appointed to editor in chief of Pluimveehouderij in 2008. This magazine focuses completely on the Dutch poultry market and is published in co-operation with the Dutch poultry organisation NOP. Brockötter also became editor in chief of Groenten & Fruit last year, a brand for Dutch horticulturalists. He will leave that magazine, to fully focus on both poultry brands of Reed Business Media: World Poultry and Pluimveehouderij.
Both appointments take effect immediately. Reed has also changed the publishing management of the agricultural brands: World Poultry, Pig Progress and All About Feed were added to the portfolio of Erwin van Luit (42). Van Luit has been in many senior management roles at the company, and is now publishing director for the Food & Hospitality markets and Agri International.
