The German Agricultural Society (DLG), organiser of the world’s largest exhibition for professional animal husbandry for the 2012 edition reports 2,445 exhibitors from 51 countries.
This is more than a 25% growth compared to the 2010 edition reports Dr Reinhard Grandke, CEO of DLG. “The exhibition area has also grown by six halls to now over 25 hectares, equivalent to a net increase in floor space of around 30%,”he said.
EuroTier 2012 is more international in character than ever before, with a growth of 40% from 778 in 2010 to 1,151 in 2012. Nearly half of the exhibitors (47%) come from outside Germany.
The largest contigents of exhibitors from outside Germany come from The Netherlands (197), France (135), China (97), Italy (94), Denmark (86), UK (72), Spain (68), Belgium (57) and Austria (51).
It is striking that nearly all the participating countries display distinct growth in numbers. “We see this as a clear signal for the increasing global orientation of the companies and of agri-business with it global interconnections,” Grandke said.
Compared to last edition animal feeds and feed additives has significantly grown. Now four halls are occupied by companies active in these fields.
In four days time DLG expects 160,000 visitors.
