France approves GM law

After an intensive political dicussion, the France parliment Thursday agreed the law that permits the planting of genetic modified crops in the country.

Legally, there was no presence of genetically modified
crops in France. However, an area that contained GM maize from an US biotech
company did exist, but was forbidden in February.
