A fire at the Denmark Shirley Feed Mill (Wisconsin, USA) caused a full employee evacuation.
Four area departments responded after someone saw fire coming out of a grain bin. Firefighters did find the grain bin on fire when they arrived on scene. The fire was contained quickly and will reopen as soon as the facility is completely safe.
Denmark Fire Chief Dave Bielinski said the fire broke out about 7:30 a.m. Firefighters mopped up dousing dust fire in pipes between the bins. The fire was put out fairly quickly, he said. “We didn’t want the fire to spread to other bins,” Bielinski said.
At about 8:50 a.m., only Denmark firefighters remained on the scene. Bielinski said officials don’t know what started the fire or how much damage was done to the grain bin. No injuries were reported.
