Hypor announced that it has entered into a genetics program arrangement with AgFeed Industries, Inc. one of China’s largest pre-mix feed companies and the country’s largest independent hog producer.
Hypor’s Shandong Liuhe Nucleus Farm will stock AgFeed’s 1200 sow Jiangxi Lushan Breeding farm with Large White Pureline Sows, Landrace Pureline Boars and the Duroc Terminal Sire. The restocking of the farm is key to AgFeed’s strategic development plan of producing and selling approximately 2,000,000 hogs into the Chinese market during 2010-2011.
Raf Beeren, Director of Hypor Asia, said “Hypor is committed to providing superior genetics which results in greater profitability for hog producers. We have done our due diligence on Lushan and believe AgFeed is taking the appropriate steps to assure the success of this venture and Hypor is pleased to be part of the expansion in AgFeed’s growth in China.”
AgFeed’s Chairman Dr. Songyan Li, commented that he had traveled the world to establish the requisites the company needed to be successful in superior hog production. Since acquiring the 1200 Jiangxi Lushan Breeding Farm, the goal of AgFeed has been to advance to the next level of production by implementing a science based genetic program and Hypor was their choice for the first phase of the program
Gerry Daignault, Chief Operating Officer of AgFeed, who has extensive experience with Hypor said, “Hypor, with its reputation for breeding technology innovation, offers AgFeed a robust breeding animal that thrives under all conditions. This is a key requirement in China today.”
