The dioxin contamination in Irish pork comes from an animal feed company, according to officials in Ireland. The feed has been sold to at least ten pig farmers.
Ireland has recalled all the pork. The contamination was picked up by a
Dutch company, which in turn alerted the Dutch Food authority, The Irish Food
Authority and the EU.
Dioxin can lead to cancer among others. However,
according to experts, the pork does not pose a risk to human health. Only when
eating contaminated meat for a very long time, the consumer has a small health
risk
