Perstorp to reduce carbon emission by half a million tonnes

Perstorp has developed a production concept to produce methanol from a large variety of recovered end-of-life streams and hydrogen from electrolysis. Project AIR will build a first-of-a-kind, large-scale, commercial Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) unit to produce sustainable methanol. The methanol plant will be unique in that it is a combined CCU and gasification process where CO2, residue streams, renewable hydrogen and biomethane will be converted to methanol. Perstorp plans to do this in cooperation with Fortum, Uniper and Nature Energy.

Feed Design Lab invests in a renewed pilot plant

Feed Design Lab has invested in its pilot plant. At the start of Feed Design Lab in 2014, a pilot plant was opened for research into new raw materials and production techniques as well as training activities. Now, 6 years later, the renewed pilot plant aims to further experiment for the animal feed industry and provide practical training. Within Feed Design Lab, 115 partner companies and knowledge institutions work together in a unique network on innovation within the animal feed sector.

Evonik launches myAMINO digital portal

Evonik expands its service offering for animal nutrition customers with a new digital portal, ‘myAMINO’, the first digital point of contact for customers. In addition to 2 online stores, myAMINO offers customers access to products, services, information, training, contacts, partners, and order management for Animal Nutrition.

Zincosupp research programme tackles zinc oxide challenge

Animine has launched the ZinCoSupp R&D project. This name stands for the SUPPression of pharmacological ZnO but also for SUPPlementation of the right zinc oxide source and dosage. The project brings together several universities to drive several PhD thesis projects to clarify the modes of action of zinc oxide.

Hamlet Protein hosts seminar in China

Hamlet Protein, in collaboration with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and Trouw Nutrition, hosted a successful seminar in Zhengzhou, China, to discuss AGP-free farming, innovation and nutrition. A total of 130 participants attended to hear the speakers share their knowledge and insights.

Siloking launches SelfLine 4.0 System 300+

Siloking is expanding its product range to include a powerful self-propelled feed mixer from 19m³ to 25m³. Equipped with a high-performance Volvo 4-cylinder engine and powerful 160kW (218hp), the machine ensures quick feed loading as well as homogeneous mixing. With speeds up to 25km/h it is ideal for daily work on the farm. Its good ground clearance ensures easy feeding even into troughs.

Cargill China opening another premix plant

Cargill in China is scheduled to open a flagship premix plant in Yichun, Jiangxi, following the launch of a 300,000-tonne compound feed mill in Langfang, Hebei, in October. The company is now close to capacity as sales more than doubled this year with demand for premium feed reportedly exceeding supply.

Barentz acquires emulsifier specialist Sevecom

Barentz has acquired Sevecom, a specialist in emulsifiers with their own developed and patented solutions for animal nutrition. Headquartered in Milan, Italy, the company has a prominent home-market position.

Phosphea announces the integration of Nuwen animal nutrition activities

To boost its development, Nuwen animal nutrition activities are now integrated into Phosphea, strengthening the range of nutritional solutions based on macro-minerals from Phosphea. The 3 ranges of products currently based on macro-minerals are the Essential range made up of ground elements for the growth and well-being of animals (calcium phosphates, calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, urea and salt), the Performance range made up of specific ingredients adapted to species (CalseaPowder, MAP, Neophos, Mag26), and the Evolution range, containing innovative natural ingredients geared toward health and animal well-being (CalseaGrow).

ADM’s Wisium premixes available in eastern Canada

ADM has launched its Wisium premix and nutrition services brand into eastern Canada, benefitting customers in Quebec, Ontario and Maritimes. For the hog business, Wisium provides Feet Up, which is a nutritional approach for sows, as well as a litter conditioner PURlite, as well as Near Infrared Technologies.

Jean-Christophe Juilliard new CEO of Olmix

Following the consolidation of Olmix’s shareholding structure announced in October, Amadéite and Motion Equity Partners have appointed Public Works Engineer and graduated from the ESSEC business school, Jean-Christophe Juilliard, to lead Olmix company and its subsidiaries as CEO. Juilliard will manage the Group’s development to make it an international key player for solutions promoting an agro-ecological transition of animal and plant activities.
