Nutreco buys Japanese fish feed facilities

11-01-2008 | |

Nutreco Holding NV said it has acquired the fish feed production facilities of Marine Net Co, the company that already produced the majority of the fish feed for Nutreco’s subsidiary Skretting Japan.

Nutreco Holding bought the Japanese fish feed facilities for €15 million.
After the acquisition, Skretting Japan will have annual sales of €45
million.

This acqusition
will strengthen the position of Skretting in Japan, according to
Nutreco. The Japanese market is one of the biggest in the world,
producing around 600,000 tonnes of fish feed per year.
