A pioneering south Fylde (a district in Lancashire in the UK) company has unveiled ambitious plans to increase its sales from £12m (€17.8m) now to £50m (€74.5m) in 2015. The Tangerine Group, which has its head office in Lytham, also wants to keep its base on the British coast.
Owner of the firm, millionaire David Haythornthwaite, has revealed the plans
on the back of another successful year for the company which has enjoyed a
record year for sales and profits. Due to growth and acquisitions over the last
five years the company, which now has five sites in the UK, is looking to set up
all its operations on one site on the Fylde. The animal feed and supplements
group is on the lookout for a five acre site to house its business, which
exports to 33 countries worldwide.
The investment in the site,
manufacturing, research and development and office facilities will total about
£4m (€5.95m)in phase one and eventually £10m (€14.9m) by 2015. And Mr
Haythornthwaite has promised to stay loyal to the region during this development
and has vowed to create more jobs for Fylde people.
Today, from his
headquarters in Lytham, Haythornthwaite runs an independent group of companies
specialising in the manufacture and supply of animal feed supplements and
veterinary nutraceuticals. Its five subsidiaries employ a total of 120 people
and the combined turnover is around £12 million.
Tangerine’s wholly owned subsidiaries include VetPlus, Farmsense, Horsesense,
Agri-Lloyd and Quay
Equestrian. The company has an additional two-wholly owned subsidiaries in
Spain and Ireland with opening in South Africa in 2007.
Haythornthwaite added: “In order to
be the recognised leader in each sector of our business we have to provide our
customers with innovative products and services, all of which I believe can be
achieved with a Fylde-based headquarters. It’s a very exciting time for the
company.”
