Poultry Personality of the Year

Wiebe van der Sluis, Editor of World Poultry magazine, has been awarded “European Poultry Personality of the Year”.

The ceremony was held at VIV Europe, which was held in Moscow, Russia, this
week.

The award presentation was a joint event of VIV and Positive Action
Publications. “Wiebe is a real communicator in the global poultry industry and
everybody knows him as a friend,” commented Nigel Horrox, presenter of the Award
Ceremony (right on the picture).

While receiving the award,
Wiebe was clearly touched by the recognition that he received. He will be
retiring from August 1st, 2008, and will be succeeded by Adrian
Bal.

Foundation of international group
Wiebe is
Editor of World Poultry, a magazine that he started himself 25 years ago, and
still runs with great enthusiasm. This magazine was the basis for the current
International Agri- & Horticulture group at Reed Business. Since then
several magazines in the poultry, pig, feed, meat, flowers and fruit and
vegetable sectors have been successfully introduced to the
market.
