Changing attitudes in
China
Through a merger of a cat food manufacturer in 1985, Nestle
stepped into pet food manufacturing, with current market share reaching 24.5%
throughout the world. The
pet food market in China is growing rapidly. The pet consumption market in
China is expected to hit CNY 6 billion (€0.6 billion) in 2008 and this figure is
likely to break CNY 15 billion (€1.5 billion) over the next few years, according
to predictions by experts.
