Van Aarsen gains momentum and expands facility

10-07-2012 | |

The speed at which Van Aarsen has grown recently has not gone unnoticed. Recently the Dutch equipment maker was awarded the contract from Kalmar Lantmän in Sweden to build a 90 tonne per hour (tph) feed mill for a total investment of €45 million.

Van Aarsen has been busy outside Europe too. For Almarai (Hail Agricultural Development Co.) in Saudi Arabia, a feed mill 100 tph.

For MIG-PLUS in Brazil, a feed mill 60 tph. In Vietnam, a feed mill 60 tph for Japfa Comfeed and for CJSC Krasnodonskoe in Russia, a feed mill 40 tph.

These new projects also require adjustments in production capacity at their facility in Panheel in the Netherlands. Plans are now underway to extend the production area by 1250 m2. The new production hall will be completed at the beginning of next year.

At the beginning of this year a completely new 5-axis machining centre was installed to reduce production time and bring extra advantages to the production process.

In addition a new rotary milling DMG CTX Beta 1250 became operational, a machine that is able to combine turning and milling operations on one machine to the highest level of accuracy.

The machine is especially, for Van Aarsen, equipped with a Direct Drive TRIFIX revolver, guaranteeing extra power and exchange accuracy in the µ-range while also increasing stability.

A second CNC CAD/CAM lathe has already been ordered to achieve an even higher efficiency.
