Vietnam: no melamine in animal feed

29-10-2008 | |

No melamine has been found in farm animal feed in Vietnam, a senior officer of the Vietnam Cattle Breeding Agency (CBA) said on Tuesday.

However, head of the Cattle Breeding Agency Hoang Kim
Giao warned local consumers about Chinese eggs illegally imported into the
country.

News about Chinese eggs containing melamine began to be spread
on the Internet last week by Hong Kong media. Chinese eggs have reportedly been
smuggled across the border. Consumers will find it difficult to differentiate
between Chinese and Vietnamese eggs, an official of the Lang Son Veterinary
Agency said.
